Volunteer Information

Things to know if you sign up to volunteer:

1. We are now being charged $25 for every volunteer that signs up. WE ask that before you sign up that you know that you are committed for the season. Because if someone volunteers, but then decides not to, we are still charged. If you sign up, but an unforeseen issues comes up that prevents you from volunteering, of course that is understandable.

2. There is now an EXTRA step in the application process. AYSO National is going with a higher level of background checks and that now requires all volunteers to finish their background check outside the Sports Connect system. You start with Sports Connect, but then Verified Volunteers (aka: Sterling Volunteers) will send you a follow up email to complete your application through their website. This is a short process at Sterling and only takes about 5 to 7 minutes.

A message from the Regional Commissioner,

Jamul AYSO Soccer is run by 100% volunteers and we are always looking for help, whether big or small. As the saying goes, "Many hands makes the work light". I know that times are very busy for families, I am included in that bunch. When I volunteered to be the Regional Commissioner I knew it was a big job, but I have been very happy that I did. Volunteering, big or small, adds a dynamic to your life that is more rewarding than even I was anticipating. I am also thankful that I have this great opportunity to set an example for my 4 kids. I want them to be the type of adults that thinks of helping out others and their community.

I do hope that you can join me in adding some dynamics to your life. Whether the job is big or small, your impact is always going to be huge!
