Jamul Region 511: World Class Soccer, Small Town Style

If during the registration process I get a wait-list notice for one or more of my players, what does this mean?

We are building teams as players and coaches are available to field a team. If, at the time of registration, there are not enough coaches or players to field a team, your child will be wait-listed, but you will not be charged the fees. Teams will be created as registration continues and the numbers of players and coaches allow. We do this because, if you pay and we were ultimately unable to have a team for your child we would be unable to provide you a FULL refund.  At this time the AYSO membership fee ($20.00) charged by our National Office is non-refundable. Once we have the ability to place your child on a team, you will receive an email asking you to complete your registration and pay. Our goal is to finish building teams by mid-July.

Please Read to be Well Informed

When does Registration start for the fall 2019 season?

On-Line registration begins April 1st, 2019.  It would be best if you register on or before July 1st, 2019 so we can form teams.  However, we take registrations after that date and up until games start.

What do I need to have handy for the registration process?

A saved copy/scan/photo (the system does not take PDF or MS Word, needs to be .jpeg, .gif, ect.) of the TOP HALF of your child's birth certificate.  If you did this last year, you should not be asked to provide the Birth Cert again.  ***If you downloaded a Birth Certificate last year, but it asks for it again this year, it is more than likely that the person checking them could not read the document and it was deleted.  Very sorry for any inconvenience.

Tip: If you take a picture of just the top 1/2 with your smart phone or tablet, you can either register on your smart phone or tablet, OR email the picture as an attachment so that it can be saved to your computer.

ONCE the certificate is up loaded we will go into the system and "verify" it.  Once we do, the document you uploaded will be DELETED by the system, so that sensitive documents are not in the system any longer than needed.

This is a ONE TIME thing, as long as we can see the document clearly.

What is the Registration fee for the 2019 season?

Regular season fee is: $109.00

$5.00 Discount for siblings.
$5.00 Discount if you register for both the Fall Season and the Mini Soccer Camp

We had to increase our fees for the 2019 season due to three different increases in costs that were imposed on all Regions.
1. The fee we pay to our Area (which Jamul is one of 8 regions in our Area) went up by $1.00.
2. There is now a $25 per volunteer fee that our region is absorbing the cost for.
3. The National Player fee that is charged by our National Office went up $2.50 per player to $20.00.

What if I need to pay with Cash or Check?

You are welcome to do so.  Please contact our Regional Commissioner to set up a time to do so.

[email protected]

AN IDEA: If you do not have the ability to pay with a Credit/Debit Card, you can take cash to any major store and purchase a Visa/MC Gift Card.  You just need to make sure it can be used on-line, which most of them do.  There are steps to take that make it able to be used on-line and then you can complete your registration and pay on-line.

How do I know what age group my child will play in?

The age determination date is based on Birth Year.  Please follow the link below for the details from our National Website, which also has a PDF file you can open and see a chart to find out what playing level your child it at.

But, here is a basic description:  Your child has to be under the age of the division on December 31st, 2019.
U6: Your child has to be under the age of 6 on December 31st, but 4 by August 1st.
U8: Your child has to be under the age of 8 on December 31st.
U10: Your child has to be under the age of 10 on December 31st.
U12: Your child has to be under the age of 12 on December 31st.
U14: Your child has to be under the age of 14 on December 31st.

What is included in the registration fee?

Registration fee includes the following items:  Uniform (Shirt, shorts and socks), Player insurance, and a Photo Package (additional photos can be purchased).

Also, included is a lot of fun, meeting new people, seeing returning friends and learning new skills; not only soccer skills, but life skills as well.

What other supplies do you need to purchase?

Shin guards and soccer cleats are a must.  Also, an age appropriate size ball is helpful to have.

Ball sizes are as follows.

How can I get involved in Jamul AYSO?

AYSO is an all volunteer run organization (with the exception of our National Office Support Team) and helping out in big or small ways can always make a huge difference.

Volunteering is a great way to....
-set an example as a role model to your children, family and friends.
-use your time and talents to be a legacy builder.
-join a group of volunteers that want the best for our children.

Please visit our "Volunteer Opportunities" page to get more details on what you can do to help.

Where does practice take place?

In Jamul practice takes place on one of three fields, depending on age group:

  • Jamul Primary School (Directly behind the school)  - U8
  • Jamul Intermediate School - U6 and U10
  • Oak Grove Middle School - U12 and U14

When are practices?

Practices start the 1st week of August and generally are 2 days per week.  This does sometimes depend on the coaches and their schedules. We have had some coaches who can only hold one practice per week.  Also, some coaches do go down to one practice per week during the game season (This is usually for the U6 and U8 Divisions).  Times do vary depending on when a coach is available.

Where are games located?

Games are usually located in Jamul at one of the three schools where the practices are also held.  However, there are situations where if we do not have enough teams to keep all the games local, they can also be held in neighboring regions, such as El Cajon, Alpine or another one.  Not all games would be played away, just some of them.

This can also happen if there is an odd number of teams and it has happened in the past that there was only one team for an age division, who then had to sometimes play away games.

When are the games?

Games start the 1st Saturday after Labor Day.  U6 and U8 have 10 games and U10, U12 and U14 have 10 or 11 games.  Last Game weekend is the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  U10, U12 and U14 can also have games in December if they advance to the Area Tournament of Champions and if they won 1st place would then also play in February at the Section Tournament of Champions.  If a player in one of the U10, U12 and U14 Divisions is selected for an All Star Team, then games would also continue (Janurary for All Star Games and then in February for teams that advance to the Section All Star Games).

How  will I communicate with my coach, my team and region staff?

New for 2019 is an App called: Team App.  A new team management platform was sought out, because the Game Changer was very limiting to be used as a whole region communication tool and using Blue Sombrero is very cumbersome with emails and such (Blue S. is still used for player and volunteer Registration).  This App can be customized by our region and will enable not only the coaches to easily communicate with their teams, but allow the region staff to easily communicate with you when needed and allow our staff to communicate with volunteers easily as well.  This APP replaces the "Game Changer" app, so if you have that one on your phone you can delete it. The Team App can be easily used on your computer, tablet or smart phone.

For Example:  For Coaches of U10, U12 and U14 teams who travel for games, there is now a direct link on the Team App to the Area V Scheduler where all the games schedules are organized and maintained.  NO more looking it up.

You will be invited to join the Jamul Team App after you complete your players registration.  The only information the Team App requires is your child's first and last name, your first and last name and your email address.  You can even add others (like the other parent, grandparents, etc) so that they can view information as well.  You would just need to email the Regional Commissioner that person's Name, email and who the child is.

If you have any questions regarding this change please let us know.
