For your first season, referees will be required to complete the referee course on AYSOU (2-3 hours) and complete the in-person certification class (3-4 hours) held in east county. as well as the basic concussions awareness, safesport, and sudden cardiac arrest. After that, referees are certified and should not have to complete any addition courses/training unless you wish to reach a higher level of certification.
All home games will be at Oak Grove Middle School on Saturdays during September, October, November for fall season and March, April, May for spring season. Ideally we will have 1 center referee and 1 line judge per game.
Once game schedules are released, we will work with the referees to fill the schedule based on everyone's availability. We will work with your availability on scheduling.
New referees will ideally start as a sideline assistant refs (AR) and move to U10 center ref as they get comfortable with the rules of the game (basically keep the kids alive and give them direction on the field. Minimal judgement calls required).
If you have a pulse, reasonable eye sight, and willing to help keep a bunch of excited kids within the rules on Saturday mornings, we would love to have you!
