Thank you for showing interest in joining our JAMUL AYSO board! We are actively looking to fill any available positions with willing volunteers to help meet the needs of our region and spread the work around. Due to our smaller size, taking on these roles is a commitment but one we want to ensure does not dominate your life. We are looking for people to take on roles that may be a few hours during the course of the month/season to help keep all parts of the soccer season operating smoothly.
Our board is made up of the following positions listed below. All positions (except for the RC) are for a 1 year period but we are happy to have volunteers continue in a position for longer if willing.
Regional Commissioner - Leads and manages the AYSO region, ensuring programs run smoothly and in alignment with AYSO's mission. Oversees board operations, supports all departments, and serves as the primary liaison with AYSO Area & National management. Voted by the board to a 3 year term. Next election will be during the 2027 season.
Treasurer - Manages the region’s finances, including budgeting, tracking expenses, handling reimbursements, and ensuring financial compliance with AYSO policies and reporting requirements. Typically requires a few hours a month to track purchases and update budget for board meetings. Possible a couple of hours in April to forecast the next years budget.
Registrar Administrator - Oversees the player registration process, manages the registration system, assists families with sign-ups, and ensures player information is complete and accurate. Requires chunks of time outside of the season setting up registration in April, monitoring sign ups through out registration, and compiling teams and info at the end of July. Will also be required for the spring season in January/Feb for registration.
Coach Administrator - Helps recruits, trains, and supports volunteer coaches. Ensures coaches complete required certifications and helps maintain a fun, safe, and development-focused environment for players. Requires a few hours a month through out the season.
Referee Administrator - Helps recruits, trains, schedules, and supports referees. Ensures all referees are certified and promotes understanding of the game rules and sportsmanship. Requires a few hours a month through out the season.
Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (CVPA) - Ensures all volunteers complete required background checks and trainings. Promotes a safe environment by enforcing AYSO’s child and volunteer protection policies. Typically requires a couple of hours during June/July to ensure coaches have completed all requirements.
Field and Safety Administrator - Coordinates field use, setup, and maintenance. Conducts regular field inspections to ensure player safety and responds to safety concerns throughout the season. Help set up field/bathroom cleaning schedules during the season, assist volunteers with stripping needs. Requires a few hours a month through out the season.
Social Media Administrator - Manages the region’s social media presence by creating and posting engaging content, sharing important updates, and promoting AYSO events and programs. Requires a few hours a month through out the season.
Uniform, Banners, and Medals Purchasing - Coordinates ordering and distribution of uniforms, team banners, and end-of-season medals or awards. Works with vendors to ensure timely delivery and quality items. Requires a few hours at the beginning and end of season.
